Event content
Rod McIntosh is the J. Clayton Stephenson Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Yale University, and the Curator-in-Charge of the Anthropology Division (Emeritus) at the Yale Peabody Museum. He is a “filthy-fingernail” dirt archaeologist, with over fifty years digging Africa. He will speak about shipwrecks, sunken ports, and drowned cities. Do they give us a better window into the lives of past peoples than do land-based archaeological excavations? What of the laws – national and international – proposed to protect these resources?
